ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People's Party, despite retaining the stronghold of Sindh for the fourth consecutive term and encouraging results in Balochistan, where it is positioned to form the provincial coalition government, has kept its future strategies close to the chest, opting to wait for the complete election results before determining its course of action.

According to the latest election results, the PPP has won 81 out of 130 seats so far, comfortably forming the Sindh government for the fourth consecutive term. Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who arrived in Lahore on Friday, will hold consultations with party leaders to formulate their plans.

Zardari travelled from Islamabad to Lahore, while Bilawal arrived from Sukkur. Sources indicate that senior PPP leaders have also been summoned to Lahore for consultations. It is anticipated that Zardari and Bilawal will likely travel to Islamabad by Sunday.

Sources suggest that the Central Executive Committee of the PPP will be convened in the coming days for consultations to chart the party's future course of action.

It is noteworthy that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his social media post on platform "X" on Thursday midnight, said: "Initial results are very encouraging! PPP candidates and independents whom we have supported or engaged with seem to be doing well. Let's see what the final tally is in the end."
