MANILA, Philippines: No hard feelings.

Maddie Madayag is happy for her friend Bea De Leon, whom she'd been teammates with for nearly a decade, as she found a new home with Creamline in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).

"I've been with Bea since my first year, we've been really close," said Madayag, who was teammates with De Leon for five years at Ateneo in the UAAP (2015-2019) and nearly the same amount of time (2019-2023) at Choco Mucho.

"We're happy that she found a new home with Creamline and we know that she's gonna learn more and grow more there as a person," added Madayag who won two championships with De Leon in their time in the UAAP.

Madayag and De Leon, both playing the middle blocker positions, helping lead the Flying Titans to a silver medal finish in the 2023 PVL 2nd All-Filipino Conference proved to be their last swing together, at least for now.

It will be different sharing the court together but opponents this time in the upcoming 2024 PVL season.

"It's gonna be different playing against her because my whole career, maybe both of our careers, we've been together on one team. Let's see how it pans out during the games."

It is what it is.

Madayag and the Flying Titans now look forward to the 2024 season inspired by their runner-up finish last conference that succeeded a stretch where they finished seventh in four straight conferences.

"I think we take it (silver medal finish) as an inspiration, especially that we have four new members in the team that's gonna help us grow and play better. We're very excited to start this first conference of 2024," said Madayag.
