FIA arrests CDA land DG in illegal allotment case

ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) director general (Land) at was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) after the cancellation of his pre-arrest bail in an illegal allotment case on Thursday.

Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand heard the case against Afnan Aalam.

During the hearing, Aalam's counsel pleaded that his client was not issued prior notice of an inquiry in the allotment case.

The counsel further pleaded that under Aalam's authority only balloting of the plots was made while the accused was not included in the allotment.

Meanwhile, FIA prosecutor requested the court that further investigation was required as the accused allotted 11 plots to others in out of total 62 allotted plots.

After the completion of arguments, the court canceled the pre-arrest bail of CDA director general (Land). Later, FIA officials arrested the accused from the court premises.
