GLASTONBURY, Conn. (WFSB) - A Connecticut couple was on the West Coast for their wedding reception when they found out their dog is missing.

They hopped on the next flight home to scour neighborhoods in Glastonbury.

"The worst thing that could have happened, probably. This is absolutely our worst nightmare," Michela said.

Michela and Adam are looking for Hanz, their great Pyrenees lab mix. He is less than a year old.

The couple flew to Colorado last week for their wedding reception.

"The morning after we got there we got a call from the kennel that our dog had escaped from the kennel and has been on the run for 8 days now," said Michela Carter.

Michela and Adam rushed back to Connecticut.

There have been a few sightings of Hanz in Glastonbury. The couple is now using every available second to search for him.

"He's the absolute sweetest dog in the entire world. His favorite thing to do is put his head on us and snug us," Michela said.

They are hoping someone spots Hanz soon, but do not chase or call him.

The Connecticut Dog Gone Recovery volunteer network is helping too.

"He's pretty shy at baseline. Now he's scared. So he's not going to come up to anyone. Might not even come up to us at this point," said Adam Schumaier.
