CHESHIRE, Conn. (WFSB) - A high school junior has curated the ideal experience for those shopping for prom dresses this year.

Kaylee Maresca said yes to her junior prom press, but not at the typical boutique.

Beth and Sonia opened their Cheshire salon doors to host a free prom dress pop-up shop, but high school junior Jill Falcone was the mastermind behind it all.

"I reached out to a couple of guidance counselors. I posted on multiple community forums," Falcone said.

Falcone's sister started the initiative when she was in high school before passing the torch.

"She started it originally. It's such a need. I took it over because hers was such a big thing and it's only gotten bigger since," said Falcone.

The growth over the years is partially caused by hefty price tags on dresses.

Today, high schoolers had racks with over 200 free prom dresses to sift through thanks to Jill.

"To be able to go to a place like this and get a dress for free is pretty amazing," said Maresca.

Even more amazing, some of those donating stuck around until each girl said yes.

"Get to see the girls actually try them and the smiles on their faces and how they just light up," said Kayla Augostinelli, Dress Donator.

The magic does not stop there, Jill set up a raffle where a few lucky girls will be gifted all the prom day get-ready necessities.

"Updo or hairstyle for prom. Free prom makeup, free eyelash extensions," Falcone said.
