BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Voters in the Kern County's Supervisor District 5 are deciding on who should represent them for the next four years.
Polls closed at 8 p.m. across Kern County.
The first vote count from the Kern County Elections Division is expected a little after 8 p.m.
Four candidates are running for the seat of Kern County's fifth supervisorial district -- Incumbent Leticia Perez, Kim Salas, Darren Amos and David Abbasi.
Kern County's fifth supervisorial district only includes the city of Bakersfield -- specifically its downtown region, as well as its eastern and southeastern portions.
District 5 ties with District 1 as the third largest in Kern County in terms of population, with about 180,000 residents. Perez has held the seat since 2013, succeeding former Supervisor and now-Bakersfield Mayor Karen Goh.
