Manipur Bags Over ₹3k-crore Projects | Guwahati News - Times of India

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated projects worth Rs 3,500 crore and laid foundation stones for several development works in Manipur from Itanagar on Saturday.

Manipur CM N Biren Singh wrote on X, "It is truly a historic moment for our state as we witness the Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji laying the foundation stones and inaugurating transformative projects of our state."

He added, "The staggering amount of Rs 3500 crore allocated to these projects underscores the BJP Government's steadfast commitment to the holistic growth of Manipur. It's heartening to note that 36 projects, totaling Rs. 1,748 crore, have their foundation stones laid, while 45 projects, worth Rs. 1,703 crore, are inaugurated today."

The projects for which Modi laid the foundation stones include construction of Unity Mall at Nilakuthi, development of infrastructure of the processing zone of Manipur IT SEZ at Mantripukhri, construction of a 60-bed state hospital in Lampjhelpat to provide specialised psychiatric care and development of infrastructure for Manipur Technical University, Imphal West district.

Modi also inaugurated various road projects and several water supply schemes in Manipur, among others.
