3 injured in fire at Coventry apartment building

COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) -- Three residents were brought to the hospital after a fire broke out inside a Coventry apartment building Monday night.

Firefighters rushed to the Glenwood Park Apartments on Tiogue Avenue around 9:30 p.m. for reports of a fire in one of the buildings.

Coventry Fire Chief Frank Brown told 12 News the three residents are expected to be OK, as their injuries are not life-threatening.

Brown said everyone inside the building escaped safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
