MONROVIA -- The new boss of the Liberia Immigration Service (LIS), Stephen Zargo, has told officers and guests attending the program marking the official turnover ceremony of the newly confirmed Commissioner Generals of the Liberia Immigration Service LIS that he cannot be successful without the support given by his principal deputies, partners of the entity, and former Commissioner Generals of the LIS.

He told people at the program that in the next 52 weeks, he envisions an LIS spirited, upbeat to efficiently and effectively provide wholesome security consistently with the institution's mandate and international best practices.

The new boss of the Liberia Immigration Service LIS spoke on a wide range of issues confronting the forward march of the institution but ended by calling all hands on deck in addressing these challenges.

For their part, Senator Prince Moye, Senate Chairperson on Way Means and Finance, and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Thomas Fallah, both lawmakers, promised to support the LIS Commissioner Generals in the discharge of their official duties.

The LIS turnover went well and was well attended by actors of the security sector and former government officials.

For her part, the Officer in Charge (OIC) Colonel Catherine B Solomon, who turned over to the Commissioner General, praised LIS Officers for their support during the time she was in charge. Colonel Solomon also presented honors to the four former Commissioner Generals for their roles played within the institution.

Police Inspector General, Liberia Drug Enforcement Agencies (LDEA) Director General, Former Defense Minister, among others, made statements of commendation for the LIS new team.
