STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) -- It's an Ohio Valley tradition spanning decades, with a story that's lasted a millennium.
'Hosanna: Resurrection' is bringing back the locally written Easter musical that packed houses in the 1990s and 2000s.
Now with restored dance sequences and dialogue, 'Hosanna' recounts Jesus Christ's passion 2000 years ago, and the mystery it still holds for us today.
Cast members describe the biblical story as a challenge to look beyond ourselves.
"There's no greater love than to lay your life down for another. And this is what Jesus has done for all of us. And so the idea of sacrificing and putting others before ourselves is a message that no matter what religion you are, this is what society needs right now."
The retelling will begin at the Sycamore Youth Center in Steubenville this Wednesday through Friday, March 20th-22nd, at 7 pm each night.
