NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday took a subtle dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during his address at the Startup Mahakumbh event, highlighting the difference between political startups and original startups.

In an indirect attack on the Congress leader, PM Modi said many people try to launch political startups but the difference between them and the original startups is the latter's thrust for new ideas.

"Many people try to launch startups, especially in politics, some people have to be launched multiple times. The difference between you and them is that you're experimental. You try new ideas after the failure of one launch," the prime minister said.

Rahul Gandhi's recent Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, spanning from Imphal to Mumbai, is perceived as a strategic move to redefine his image as the face of the opposition party ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Rahul Gandhi is set to contest from his current Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency once again.

At the Startup Mahakumbh event, PM Modi expressed his vision of propelling India to become the world's third-largest economy during his third term, highlighting the pivotal role of startups in driving India's progress.

"The world sees the capability of Indian youth. Trusting their capabilities, we decided to fuel their aspirations. We have transformed people's thinking; instead of being a job-seeker, the youth is now keen on becoming a job-provider," PM Modi said in his address.

Sharing a personal anecdote, he also mentioned the use of artificial intelligence to translate his speeches into regional languages. His address also found mentions of India's UPI which was widely appreciated by global leaders during the G20 Summit last summer.
