AAP Delhi Protest: Cops issues traffic advisory; Metro service disruption confirmed

Delhi: After Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last night, the Delhi traffic police and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) have issued advisories for citizens.

As per a social media post of DMRC, the ITO metro station in Blue line will remain closed today (March 22) between 8 am and 6 pm, followed by an instruction received by the Delhi Police.

"On advice of Delhi Police, ITO Metro station will remain closed from 08:00 AM to 06:00 PM today i.e, 22nd March 2024," reads the DMRC's X (formerly twitter) post.

Furthermore, a traffic advisory has also been released by the Delhi traffic police on their official X (formerly twitter) handle. As per the social media update, today (March 22), commuters are advised to avoid using Krishna Menon Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road and Janpath until further notice. As per the post disruptions on these stretches might be caused due to some "special arrangements."

"On 22.03.2024, Due to Special arrangements, Traffic may remain affected on Krishna Menon Marg, Motilal Nehru Marg, Janpath, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road. Commuters are advised to avoid these stretches till further notice," reads the Delhi Traffic Police official post.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal and AAP convener was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) last night. He was picked up in the Liquor Policy case, after almost 2 hours of. questioning by the central agency.

Followed by Kejriwal's arrest last night, Aam Aadmi Party's Delhi unit convener, Gopal Rai, issued a call on Thursday for a nationwide demonstration against BJP.
