MONROVIA - President Joseph Nyuma Boakai administered the "Oath of Confidentiality" to members of the National Security Council of Liberia at the Executive Mansion on March 20, 2024.

In his address, as stated in an Executive Mansion release on Thursday, March 21, 2024, the President urged the officials to serve the nation's and the citizens' interests with unwavering dedication.

The release added that President Boakai also chaired the council's inaugural meeting, during which the security sector officials discussed a range of critical national issues.

Following the closed-door meeting, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Liberia, Cllr. N. Oswald Tweh, assured the public that the Government is committed to finding solutions to the challenges facing the country.

Minister Tweh highlighted challenges such as the situation in Kinjor and other concession areas, as well as issues affecting citizens at various borders. He emphasized the Government's commitment to building upon its experiences and being better prepared to tackle any future issues.

The Attorney General praised President Boakai's vision for the country's development and urged Liberians to be patient as the Government works to address their concerns.

The National Security Council comprises several officials, including the Minister of Justice, Minister of Finance, Minister of National Defense, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), Minister of Internal Affairs, National Security Advisor to the President, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Inspector General of Liberia National Police, Commissioner of the Liberia Immigration Services, Director of the National Fire Service, the Head of the National Security Agency (NSA), the Director of the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency, among others.
