The Lone Star of Liberia won the first leg away with a 0-2 with Mohammed Sangara and Murphy Oscar Dorley getting Liberia two goals in the first half to give Liberia all three points.

Djibouti who has not won a game against Liberia will be hoping their dominate possession in the first leg will turn in to goals as the continue their search for a win over Liberia.

Both countries have met three times with Liberia win all three a 5-0 , and 1-0 win in 2016 follow by March 20,2024 away 2-0 win in Morocco.

A win for Liberia on today will see the Lone Star advance to the group stage of the qualifying round of the 2025 nations cup that is expected to take place in Morocco.

The draw for the eight lowest-ranked teams according to the FIFA rankings were drawn in February in Cairo, Egypt.

The four (4) preliminary round winners will join the 44 exempted teams for the group stage.

New Liberia head coach Mario Marinica will be hoping to secure a decent result at home to finish the job he started on March 20 away from home.

Lone Star who has been to the nations cup twice in 1996 and 2002 under it's new coach has a dominant local based team for the double header.

Marinica who was given a two years contract has a mandate to take Liberia to the 2025 nations cup in Morocco and if he must achieve such he must eliminate Djibouti.

Liberia has not won a game at home since their 1-0 win against Chad in 2020 something Marinica is aware of.

Speaking during his Monday's Pre match conference Marinica said he is going into his first home game to get a win.

He said it's not about how his team play in the first leg what is important is for him to get the win and make Liberians happy once more.

Mario Marinica told media that he will fight to win the game just like how they did in the first leg and don't care about how his team play.
