Uganda Joint Christian Council conducts Ecumenical Public Way of the Cross

RELIGION: The Uganda Joint Christian Council on Good Friday conducted an Ecumenical way of the Cross to Old Kampala SSS grounds in commemoration of the death of Jesus on the cross under the theme: Do Good, seek justice, prepare for Judgement

The Church of Uganda was led by the Archbishop of Uganda Dr. Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu started at All Saints Cathedral Kampala to Old Kampala.

The teams held different stopovers at different venues as the clergy preached the word of God.

In his message to believers, Archbishop Kazimba Mugalu called on Ugandans to return what they have stole from the vulnerable poor just like Zacharias

"God is calling us Ugandans to return what we stole let us be like Zacharias. When you return what you have stolen, add on something 4times including those who stole the Mabaati (iron sheets). Some of you are sleeping in big Houses but the iron sheets on them were stolen. How Can you rest when the Iron sheets were stolen. Lets seek justice and do Good." he said

"We have come to walk with you and deliver you to the hands of the Lord because on a such that its when Jesus Christ told the sinner that you are welcome to the kingdom of God. In your Business don't work for the downfall" Dr Kaziimba added.

The Ugandan Joint Christian Council (UJCC) is an ecumenical organisation established in 1963 to provide a platform for its members to work towards greater mutual understanding and unity of purpose.

In other parts of the Country, Christians from different Dioceses also joined the Public way of the cross

The Catholic side which was led by the Archbishop of Kampala His Grace Paul Ssemogerere Started at Lubaga Cathedral and walked to Old Kampala where the joint prayers were held.

Catholics from Different Catholic institutions , police, youths, religious, students turned up in Big number to Participate in the way of the cross
