Jaipur: Eleven more trainee sub-inspectors (SIs) of Rajasthan Police were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly clearing the recruitment exam in 2021 by using unfair means. Police said that the arrested trainees cleared the exam by using leaked question papers and dummy candidates.

Along with the trainees, a constable has also been arrested from Jodhpur.

The arrests come a day after a team of the police's special operations group (SOG) reached Rajasthan Police Academy (RPA) around 9:30am and interrogated the trainee SIs for three hours. After this, 15 trainee SIs were detained and brought to the SOG headquarters. They included 2 female and 13 male trainee SIs. After interrogation, 11 trainee SIs were arrested on Wednesday.

The SOG has also arrested constable Abhishek Bishnoi, posted at Sadar Bazar police station of Jodhpur commissionerate. Bishnoi had passed the SI recruitment exam 2021 but did not join the training.

A senior police officer said, "Among the arrested accused are candidates who hold merit ranks in the top 20. They include Surendra Bagdiya, resident of Sikar (rank 3), Dinesh Bishnoi, resident of Jodhpur (rank 6), Mala Ram Bishnoi, resident of Barmer (rank 10), and Rakesh Jat, resident of Jhunjhunu (rank 13)."

Police sources said that interrogation revealed that 8 of the detained SIs were unaware even of their exam centre. The remaining trainee SIs could not provide information related to the exam.
