Bathinda: The leaders of two farmer forums -- SKM (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) -- have further made accusations of bullets having been fired at protesters on Feb 21 at the Punjab-Haryana Shambhu border.

They have shown "empty cartridges" claiming these too have been "recovered from the tyres of a tractor" apart from the bullet mark on a water tanker attached to the vehicle.

The farmer leaders stated that after the violent incidents on Feb 21 they had moved the tractor to safety and abandoned it.

It was on April 3 that they again looked at the tractor and found the bullet mark and recovered empty rounds, they said.

Haryana police had denied firing but admitted to have used only tear gas shells.

KMM convener Sarvan Singh Pandher and BKU Shaheed Bhagat Singh leader Tejvir Singh, while showing the bullet mark on the water tanker at the Shambhu border, said that "Haryana police might be denying to have fired bullets but we have found proof of firing".

"We had abandoned the tractor which we brought out today. Two cartridges have been recovered from the tyres of the tractor. The Punjab government and investigating agencies must take note of it as the tractor was parked in the territory of Punjab," they said.

SKM (Non-Political) and KMM had given a call for Delhi Chalo 2 on Feb 13 demanding legal guarantee of MSP on all crops as per C2+ 50%.

They were stopped at Shambhu and Khanauri borders.

Haryana police used tear gas shells and pellets to stop protesters and again on Feb 21 when, again, the farmers had tried to move forward.

A young farmer named Shubhkaran Singh was killed at Khanauri border on Feb 21.
