MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday rejected the conditions set by Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on his surrender, which he described as "tail-wagging."
Quiboloy recently said that he will surrender if he will not be extradited to the US where he is facing criminal charges.
"It seems to be a little bit tail wagging, right? That he would give the government conditions in his case. He is accused in the warrant of arrest. We've known him for a very long time. Ang maipapangako ko (what I can promise), all the proceedings will be fair," Marcos said during a chance interview in Bacolod City.
"No, as to the involvement of the United States, that's going to take years. So I don't think that's something he needs to worry about," he added.
Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ church, was charged by the US justice department with sex-trafficking of girls and women in 2021.
