LINCOLN, R.I. (WPRI) -- A woman was brought to the hospital after falling nearly 70 feet down a an embankment in Lincoln Tuesday evening.
Lincoln Fire Chief Robert Fisher said the woman, who's in her 20s, was trying to rescue one of her dogs, who wound up at the bottom of a wooded slope near Chase Farm.
The woman ended up sliding down the slope and suffered a laceration to the back of her head in the process. Fisher said the woman couldn't climb back up the slope, but her dog did.
Firefighters used an elaborate pulley system to hoist the woman back up the steep embankment. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
