Grange-over-Sands - in Cumbria - is described as an "elegant town" that dates back to around 678 AD. The town is located along the coastline, with views across the sea but no actual beach for locals and guests to enjoy.
Instead, this town has a promenade that runs alongside the wide expanse of saltmarsh which is unsuitable for walking due to dangerous quicksands found in the area.
Tourists are told to walk along the promenade to see Morecambe Bay instead, and with it being car-free it makes a great family-friendly spot for children to enjoy as well.
There is a park and a Grade II listed building along the route, providing stop off points for those completing the walk.
