ISLAMABAD: The majority of Pakistani people are strongly opposed to suicide and do not consider it right under any circumstances.
It was found in a Gallup Pakistan survey, in which more than 1,000 people participated across the country. The survey was conducted between February 29 and March 15, 2024. On the question whether it was right to take an extreme step like 'suicide' under any circumstances, 91 percent Pakistanis in the survey declared it wrong. Only seven percent supported suicide and gave various justifications, while one percent took the middle position, neither supporting nor opposing suicide openly. One percent did not answer the question.
