LAGOS - Williams Ekeagwu is the anchor of Olu Ohaneze, a chit chat programme on Kwenu FM where issues that concern Igbo in Lagos and other parts of the world are discussed and dissected.

He said that Igbo leaders and Ohanaze chieftains will come in and shed light on issues that concern the Igbo.

He stated that he started the programme in order to bridge the communication between and among members of Ohanaeze in Lagos State and other parts of the world.

"We have had a difficult time in Ohanaeze Lagos State and we are looking for ways to solve the problem. As I speak with you, a o chieftain of Ohanaeze in Lagos State is in detention and he has been there since last year and there is nobody to speak for him. I went to visit him in Kirikiri Prison and there was nobody to call to come and help him.

"We want to create a communication channel among members so that issues that concern the Ohanaeze members will be resolved before they get out of hand. There is a need to keep on talking among ourselves and resolving issues that concern us.

"There a need for us to unite because we are not having the best of times in Nigeria. We should defend and protect ourselves too. A house that is divided cannot stand," Ekeagwu posited,.

He disclosed that he is going to introduce segments that will teach Igbo language and culture, adding that on every programme respected a Eze will perform the breaking of kolanut and offer prayers.

He disclosed that the progrmme comes up every Thursday between 10 and 11 am.

He said further, "Last Thursday, we had Eze Okpotemba perform the kolanut formalities, we also had Chief Sunny Ossai, the Lagos State president of Ohanaeze, the state woman leader, and Prince Ubochi C. Ubochi on the radio and the feedback has been encouraging.
