Cuddalore: Four people died, and a 10-year-old was severely injured in two different accidents on Tuesday in Cuddalore district.

Police said Malarvannan, 55, a teacher at a govt high school and his wife M Vijayalatha, 49, were going to Bhuvanagiri from Vadalur on his bike. When crossing a petrol bunk near Adoor Agaram, the bike collided head-on with a car coming in the opposite direction.Malarvannan died at Cuddalore GH while Vijayalatha died of injuries at a private hospital in Puducherry. The car driver also sustained severe injuries.

In the other accident, a 42-year-old man, Selvakumar, was returning home on his bike with his wife S Saritha, 35, and son S Guru, 10, after attending a relative's final rites at Neyveli on Tuesday. When crossing a private school at Pudhukoorpettai, a private college bus hit his bike. Saritha died on the spot. The other two sustained severe injuries. At Vridhachalam GH Selvakumar was declared 'brought dead'. The boy was referred to Cuddalore GH.tnn
