Liverpool fans were loving their new kit - apart from one key detail which let it down for many.

The Reds have gone early with their announcement for next season's strip, doing so with three Premier League games still to play this campaign. But with their title hopes all but faded, they're already looking ahead to the Jurgen Klopp-less future.

They unveiled the home kit on Thursday (May 2) morning, leaving supporters divided in their thoughts. It bears resemblance to the 2019/20 shirt in which they won the Premier League, with yellow pin stripes covering the traditional red.

But it was the white and red collar which was a turn off for plenty of disgruntled fans, with one taking aim at the kit manufacturer as they questioned: "Nike what's that collar?"

Another fumed: "Love the pin stripes but that collar is horrible. Ugh." A third reacted: "Love everything but the collar." And a fourth argued: "Neck line is vile."

"I mean it's alright but the collar looks so ugly," vented a fifth, while a sixth asked: "Why did they give up on the neckline and just stick a straight edged piece of fabric over it? That's an awful finish imo."

Fans are able to pre-order the shirt, with the replica version costing £80 and the matchday edition a mega £125. The youth jerseys aren't much cheaper, clocking in at £60 and £100 respectively.

And the shorts will set you back £43 for the standard pair, or £65 for the premium. Also on offer is an anthem jacket priced at £125.

As much as Liverpool's season does appear to be virtually over, Klopp will be looking to end on a high. They host Tottenham on Sunday before travelling to Aston Villa the week after, finishing the season at home to Wolves.
