Chief commissioner visits Faisal Masjid

Islamabad: The newly appointed Chief Commissioner Islamabad Chaudhary Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited Faisal Masjid soon after assuming his office on Friday.
Randhawa who will hold charge of chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) directed officials concerned to start maintenance and renovation work of Faisal Masjid immediately.
He directed officials that necessary maintenance and repair work should be completed on Friday. The officials of CDA engineering wing also accompanied the Chief Commissioner during the visit.
Later, he also held a meeting with CDA board members and directed them to complete all the ongoing development projects timely. During briefing, he also gave directions for improving efficiency of CDA staff and administration.
Meanwhile, the faithful while commenting on visit of chief commissioner demanded that measures should be taken to ensure sanctity of Faisal Masjid which now has become a picnic spot more than a religious place.
Families including men and women are mixing up, eating food and drinks without caring for sanctity of Masjid. The situation becomes more regrettable during Nikah ceremonies inside the Masjid
