DURBAN - The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) is set to hold an election rally at the KwaMadlala sports ground on the KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) south coast on Saturday.
This is as the party prepares for what it terms a takeover of KZN government in the upcoming polls.
The party said it has very little support with only one ward in the area - which falls under the Ray Nkonyeni municipality.
And with less than a month to the May 29 elections, it is looking at garnering more support and says it's setting its sights not only on its base but also in areas where the party still lacks support.
The party's premier candidate, Thami Ntuli is expected to lead his campaign to the southern parts of the province.
He said that come 29 May, the IFP wants to honour its late founder Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi by taking over power in KZN.
Ntuli is expected to outline the IFP's promise for the next five years to the people of rural KwaMadlala if elected.
