A State witness has testified he attended various meetings with Booysen and other gangsters, where a plot to take back control Cape Town's nightclubs from Modack was discussed in 2017.
The witness said in April that year, Booysen went through the streets of Cape Town and used about 100 gangsters to threaten nightclub owners in an attempt to oust Modack.
Meanwhile, in the Modack matter, a dispute in the tow-truck industry which allegedly led to the murder of a driver, Richard Joseph, in 2019, is also said to stem from the rivalry between Modack and Booysen.
Joseph, who worked for a tow-truck company linked to Booysen, was shot dead by a hitman who admits he was hired by Modack.
