KINGSTON, Jamaica - According to Observer Online sources, Jamaica College (JC) will be hunting a new athletics head coach after Neil Harrison was told his contract will not be renewed.

Harrison, who joined JC in 2019, led the Dark Blues to Champs victory in 2021, but has lost three consecutive championships by margins to rivals Kingston College with teams most experts thought should have been much closer.

Observer Online leant that Harrison who coached KC between 2014 and 2018 before being sacked, met with principal Wayne Robinson on Friday and was told his contract won't be renewed.

Harrison, who made a name while at Munro College took the hot seat at Kingston College (KC) and after failing to deliver in five years, losing by three points to Calabar in 2017, pressure began to mount.

He made the switch to JC in 2019, the same year KC ended their 10-year drought but got sweet revenge in 2021 defeating KC by 15 points.

But with Calabar High not the powerhouse of former years, the mantle was left to Harrison and JC to take the fight to KC. In 2022 KC regained their title winning by 71 points and in 2023 they retained their crown besting JC by 67 points.

But with the rivalry intensifying following the influx of overseas-based athletes from schools, nothing but a win is good enough.

Unfortunately, JC lost for the third consecutive year, losing by 57 points.

But that wasn't all, a lot of people began questioning his decisions especially after one of JC's star runners got hurt, the blame was at Harrison's feet.
