CAPE TOWN - The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party said it's still undecided on its final list of candidates to Parliament, with claims of manipulation.

The internal battles over lists and candidates are unresolved less than a week before the country heads to the polls.

The disagreement over the list also comes after the Constitutional Court confirmed party leader Jacob Zuma cannot run for public office yet.

It's less than a week until the elections but the MK Party said the names on its list to Parliament are not final.

It said the party line doesn't seem to have been followed in the name selection.

Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela added that it seemed to have been manipulated and should not be taken as final.

"There were lists that were submitted. People were given the responsibility to upload those lists according to what party line and recommendations were, and they didn't.

"We actually had to open up a case. I wouldn't use that parliamentary list as the final position of MK's parliamentary list - it's not."

While the party tries to sort out its list for Parliament, the lists do show how some of its candidates include former African National Congress members of Parliament (MPs), like former National Council of Provinces deputy chair Raseriti Tau, who could return to the legislature in MK Party colours.
