Annual consumer price inflation eases to 5.2% in April

JOHANNESBURG - Annual consumer price inflation has again slowed for a consecutive month, easing to 5.2% in April.
Statistics South Africa (Stats SA) released the latest figures on Wednesday, which indicate a move from a reading of 5.6% in March.
Stats SA said housing and utilities, food and transport were the main drivers behind the headline rate in April.
"The monthly change in the CPI was 0,3% in April, softer than the 0,8% rise recorded in March," said the chief director for price statistics at Stats SA - Patrick Kelly.
