Mr. Kemayah and his family have been residing in the Paynesville Town Hall community for over 25 years even before he, Mr. Kemayah joined the public sector six years ago.
Kemayah, on behalf of his family, said it was essential to put smiles on the faces of fire victims as they go through a tough moment when he donated food and non-food items.
The former foreign minister paid a one-year rent for all thirteen family heads, with the presentation of a cash package to each of them, during a brief ceremony on Sunday, May 26.
He additionally presented school materials to children who were affected as a result of the fire incident.
Before the donation, the affected families' heads were homeless, as women and children were sleeping in the open, while others managed to find shelters with friends.
The victims appreciated Kemayah's family for what they described as a timely donation, saying that it would enable them to restart their lives.
Amb. Kemayah's gesture, according to beneficiaries, serves as a great relief, following the incident.
"Mr. Kemayah and his family are so good, we appreciate his entire family for their timely assistance to us," said one of the fire victims.
A mother of four children narrated that the former foreign minister's gesture is not the first of its kind to them, adding that he has been "helping us since he moved into the community.
Mark Tulay, chairman of the Paynesville Town Hall community, said that the community remains grateful to Amb. Kemayah and his family for their presence in the community and for coming to the aid of fire victims.
Tulay named Kemayah's support to the community election, donating preventive materials during the Ebola Crisis, and a lot more, as laudable gestures.
In response, Mr. Kemayah expressed sadness over the loss of community residents' properties and homes, but at the same time appreciated God that no one got injured or lost his or her life as a result of the fire disaster.
"This is not about showing up nor does it have any political undertone because we love our community and we see it necessary to help our people as always", he said.
He hailed his wife of over 32 years as his "strength" who continues to inspire him to help humanity. "My wife, through our clinic, has over the years made some worthy interventions to the people of this community and beyond", he added.
He used the occasion to call on the government to come in and also identify with the 13 family heads who got victimized due to the fire incident.
"This is the time to stand with your people, especially in times of need", he noted.
