Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) B Zone has appealed to all stakeholders in society to stop any form of violence, discrimination, stigmatisation, molestation, and exploitation against children as they are an integral part of our society.
The zone, in a statement to commemorate the year's Children's Day celebration, Adeola Adekunle, and the secretary, Adeola Adewole described this year's theme 'Inclusion for Every Child Belonging to any Society ' as a clarion call that no child should be left behind in all the welfare programmes available in the society, irrespective of gender, age, tribe, culture or religion.
According to them, they should equally be included in every family decision making as they are the joy of every home.
The group called on government at all levels to prioritize and promote protection of children, quality education, improved health care delivery and appealed for effective implementation of the Child Welfare and Protection Law (CWPL) and Violence Against Persons Prohibition Law (VAPP) to deal decisively with anyone caught violating the rights of the children.
It added that parents should train their children with a high sense of love, trust, dignity, and empathy without using vulgar language.
