KINGSTON, Jamaica - Lanae-Tava Thomas ran a personal best 22.36 seconds (1.8m/s) to win the women's 200m at the Racers Grand Prix at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Thomas, who represented the US as a junior before switching allegiance, led off the curve and held off two other Jamaicans to go under her previous best of 22.38 seconds set in Texas in April 2023.

Ashanti Moore was second in 22.74 seconds and Jodean Williams third in 22.95 seconds.

Trinidad and Tobago's Jereem Richards took the men's 200m race, running a season's best 20.13 seconds (0.8m/s) as came from behind to finish ahead of Nigeria's Udodi Chudi Onwuzurike, who was second with 20.27 seconds, and Jamaica's Bryan Levell who ran 20.48 seconds for third.

Despite complaining about a "slight physical issue", Traves Smikle won the men's discus throw with 65.65m, beating Alex Rose of Samoa who threw 65.02m and American Reggie Jagers who was third with 64.64m.
