Namibia will play their opening ICC T20 World Cup 2024 fixture against Oman on Sunday (Monday morning in India). They might not be the favourites to make the tournament's knockout phase but Namibia could pull off a few upsets.

However, their warm-up fixture against Australia turned out to be a one-sided affair. The match saw Namibia's Zane Green add 38 runs to help his side reach a total of 119.

During Australia's chase, David Warner scored a rapid-fast 21-ball 54 to secure a dominant seven-wicket victory.

Namibia were quick to bounce back from the defeat as they took down Papua New Guinea in their next match by three runs. They will now be looking to continue that momentum against Oman next week as they hope for an ideal start to their campaign.

The Namibia versus Oman clash at the T20 World Cup will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on June 2 (June 3, 6 AM IST). Oman were also scheduled to play two warm-up matches ahead of the tournament proper. They won their first fixture by three wickets against Papua New Guinea. In the contest, Oman skipper Aqib Ilyas made a significant impact by taking three scalps to limit PNG to 137/9. A 45-run knock from Zeeshan Maqsood sealed the victory for Oman.

Oman next took on Afghanistan but it produced no result due to rain interruption.
