CAPE TOWN - Police have made a breakthrough in their investigation into a mass shooting incident in Khayelitsha.

Three children and a 30-year-old man were killed when gunmen opened fire at a barbershop in Site C on Saturday.

Seven other people were seriously injured in the attack.

Police on Monday confirmed the arrest of two suspects in their twenties, who are expected to make their first appearance in the Khayelitsha Magistrate's Court on Friday.

The police's Novela Potelwa: "Provincial serious violent crime detectives have charged two suspects for the shooting. They face murder and attempted murder charges and will appear in court on Friday in Khayelitsha. As the investigation unfolds, more arrests and additional charges are on the cards."
