Ahmedabad: Civic chief M Thennarasan on June 15 delegated more decision-making power to assistant municipal commissioners and zonal officials through a circular.

The circular aims to make the civic body's administration more effective, strengthen services and resolve public issues at the sub-zonal office level.

The assistant commissioners are now allowed implementation of revenue and capital budgets, including the power to issue tenders up to Rs 5 lakh for road, water and sewer works at the zonal level.

The assistant commissioners now have the authority to write confidential reports for deputy city engineers and other employees. tnn
