NASHUA -- A Manchester man with no fixed address is facing numerous charges, including five counts of felony theft, following his arrest over the weekend by members of the police department's Problem Oriented Policing Unit.

Shawn Brousseau, 50, was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Superior Court on five counts of theft, which are felonies due to Brousseau's previous convictions on theft-related charges, police said. He is also charged with one count of driving after suspension, second offense.

Officers were called to Rivier University Friday to take a report of a stolen vehicle, as well as for thefts of items from multiple vehicles parked on campus.

A review by detectives of video captured by security cameras showed a man "rummaging through vehicles" between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m., police said.

Footage also showed the suspect, later identified as Brousseau, allegedly enter one of the vehicles and drive off, police added.

A bit later in the morning, officers found Brousseau on Amherst Street, a short distance from the allegedly stolen vehicle.

He was booked on the charges and held pending his Monday arraignment.

Police ask anyone with any additional information on the case to contact the department's Crime Line at 589-1665.
