Myanmar to hold film awards presentation ceremony in early 2024

YANGON, Jan. 5 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar will hold a presentation ceremony for the Myanmar Academy Awards event in early 2024 in its capital Nay Pyi Taw, according to the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization.

"We are currently scrutinizing 35 movies with 25 judges and 11 sorts of film academy awards will be presented for the 2023 Myanmar Academy Awards event," U Aye Kyu Lay, vice chairman of the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization, told Xinhua on Friday.

According to him, over 300 applicants have applied for the receptionists who get to carry prizes, and 26 receptionists have been selected for the ceremony.

The feature of the event this year is that the producers of the TV channels come to see the receptionist selection event to cast them in a TV series, he said.

At the ceremony for the event of the year 2022, 22 awards were presented.
