The seminar was based on the topic 'Empower To Inspire' and was held from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Eden Crest Villa.
As per the sources, the event welcomed eighty women of age nineteen to thirty-five years, through a pre-booked invitation, mainly from the communities of Anse La Raye/Roseau Valley.
The gathering arranged a panel discussion where the young ladies discussed about the areas of domestic violence, sexual assault, financial freedom, personal growth, physical and mental health.
The organisers arranged the event with a vision to aware women to live their life safely, fulfilled and productive.
They believe that women empowerment should be promoted so that females can contribute to the workforce and can raise happier and healthier children through their skills.
According to the officials, Empowered women are the need of the society, for the health and social development of families, communities and countries. They aim to make women aware to live where they can work and think properly at their full potential.
The seminar was organised under the campaign 2023 Year of Youth which was a part of 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence. The campaign was launched by the United Nations Women to prevent and end the violence against women and girls.
The international campaign started on November 26, 2023 with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and culminated on December 10, 2023 that observed Human Rights Day.
While observing 16 Days of Activism, Saint Lucia also celebrated Go Orange Day on November 29, 2023 which was an initiative by Caribbean Women in Leadership, Saint Lucia National Chapter to raise awareness and stand against gender-based violence.
