Saint Lucia to observe Women Empowerment Seminar on Dec 10

Saint Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports is organising Women's Empowerment Seminar on Sunday, December10, 2023. The seminar will be arranged in association with the Roseau Valley Alliance at Eden Crest Ville, Massacre, Anse la Raye.

The seminar will be based on the topic "Empower To Inspire". The event will commence from morning 9:00 a.m. to evening 5:00 p.m., at the selected venue.

As per the information, The Women Empowerment Seminar invites all women of age nineteen to thirty-five years, of the Roseau valley and Anse la Raye.

The seminar is especially organised for empowering the women. As it is essential for the health and social development of families, communities and countries.

The organisers believe that when women are living their life safely, fulfilled and productive, they can work and think properly at their full potential. Then, they can also contribute through their skills to the workforce and can raise happier and healthier children.

Saint Lucia is observing 2023 Year of Youth began under 16 Days of Activism against gender-based violence. The campaign has started by United Nations Women to prevent and end violence against women and girls.

Violence against women or girls is considered as most pervasive human rights violation worldwide. As there's no excuse for gender-based violence.

The sixteen days campaign will be observed from November 25, 2023 to December 10, 2023. The campaign is being observed annually on global basis and culminates on Human Rights Day.

To initiate the same, Saint Lucia is celebrating Go Orange Day on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. It is an initiative by Caribbean Women in Leadership, Saint Lucia National Chapter, to raise awareness and to take action against gender-based violence.

On the Orange Day, people of Saint Lucia have asked to show their support and raise awareness by wearing something Orange.
