HYDERABAD: The Sindh government has made all the preparations for the coming elections, said Sindh Caretaker Home Minister Brigadier (retd) Haris Nawaz as he spoke to the media after distribution of certificates at a training workshop at the Central Division Staff Training Institute, Hyderabad.

The home minister opined that the army should be called as a quick reaction force during the polls and in case of any emergency, they should reach any polling station within 15 minutes.

He said the caretaker Sindh government had appointed the SSPs in Sindh thoughtfully and only those who were not performing well had been replaced with the permission of the Election Commission of Pakistan. He explained that as the election schedule had been announced now, there would be no more reshuffle.

"We will ensure clean and transparent elections," Nawaz maintained.

He said improvements were visible in Sindh regarding the law and order issue. He said a large amount of narcotics had been seized by law enforcers along with other smuggled items such as Iranian diesel worth billions of rupees.

In response to a question regarding illegal immigrants, the home minister said the government was not harassing the people who had CNICs. "We are just sending those who are illegal immigrants," he explained, adding that 40,000 illegal immigrants had left voluntarily.
