Suspect held for murder, rape of teenage boy

HYDERABAD: Tando Muhammad Khan (TMK) district's senior superintendent of police (SSP) Saleem Shah told a press conference on Tuesday that the alleged rapist and murderer of a 14-year-old boy, who was found dead in the Bijar Khan Talpur village, was arrested within 24 hours of the incident.

Sharing the findings of the initial investigation, SSP Shah said the arrested suspect was a relative of the deceased boy and he had taken him out on the pretext of playing cricket. The officer added that the suspect raped the boy before killing him.

He said the suspect then dumped the body in bushes and escaped to evade arrest. Shah added that the suspect had confessed to the crime during the interrogation.

The SSP had formed a team under the supervision of TMK deputy superintendent of police to investigate the case. The team included the station house officer (SHO) of the Sheikh Bhirkio police station, TMK's Crime Investigation Agency incharge and SHO B Section police station.
